What Does 2019 Have in Store for You?

I love fresh starts and I think that is one reason that I look forward sitting down and writing out my resolutions every December 31st. It is a time to actively reflect on the year, set new goals for the upcoming year, and begin a new chapter.

For me, I think it always important to remember to be grateful. It is easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, so my goal for 2019 is to start each day with a thought of gratefulness. This classic Moleskin journal from Books-A-Million is ideal for capturing my Attitude of Gratitude.

NO. 2

Create a better balance, routine and structure. We live in a culture of work, work, work where it is easy to get bogged down in the grind and miss out on all the little things that make life special. In 2019, I am going to try taking a step back and spend more time with friends and family. Maybe that entails meeting for margaritas once a month at El Jalisco with friends or catching the latest release at AMC. Maybe it is setting up a routine of hitting the gym more. Do a little more of the things that keep me centered and grounded!

NO. 3

Declutter and organize. As the old saying goes, out with old and in with the new. For me, 2019 means getting rid of the things that I am not using or have served their useful purpose. It is time to simplify my life and there are things in my house that are just taking up space. Purge, purge, purge! And for the things that make the cut, they all need a place to live. I will be heading to Lowes to invest organization solutions. They have everything from garage shelving to closet systems. For me, I will be starting with my closets that are bursting at the seams!

NO. 4

Invest in myself. Every year I find this on my resolution list and every year I find that I have once again failed to accomplish this goal. Since 2019 is about being the best version of myself, I find this resolution on my list once again. If you are anything like me, then maybe you put off buying clothes until you lose those extra pounds. By doing this, I allow myself to slip further into a downward spiral. But not this year. I have chosen some staple pieces to build my wardrobe around. I especially love this Tweed Sweater Jacket and Essential Slim Pants from White House Black Market. Investing in myself means making better wardrobe decisions where what I buy will last and stay in my wardrobe for years to come.

NO. 5

Do not be afraid to try something outside my comfort zone. I am the queen of getting stuck in a rut. In fact, I do believe I have had the same hairstyle since I was three years old. And how many of “my lips but better” lipsticks does one lady need? Apparently, around 15 tubes is my sweet spot! This year, I want to break out of my norm a bit. Maybe try a new hair color or cut at Avantgarde Salon. Or perhaps try out a bold red lip. Sephora offers full-face makeovers so that you can let the experts work their magic. Just book your appointment here if you too are in need of a little refresh.

NO. 6

Achieve a little more self-acceptance. This is not something that is achieved overnight, but rather it is a journey. We all have strengths and flaws and coming to terms with those is difficult. We are bombarded with images and messages that tell us what we should look like, how much money we should have, how successful we should be, and it is impossible to live up to those expectations. This year, I vow not to beat myself up over what I perceive as my shortcomings or over things I cannot control. Rather, I will love myself for everything I am and all that I do accomplish. This is why I love Aerie and their True You Sizing where the message is to embrace your body size and shape. It seems like a little step but it’s a huge step in the right direction.

NO. 7

Stay positive and live in the moment. Life is hard sometimes and we are bombarded with a ton of negative energy. 2019 is the year I want to attempt to keep my world as positive as possible. I will surround myself with people that focus on building others up and have a great attitude. I am vowing to live my life more. Enjoy the experiences and let them fill my soul.

2019 in the year for me to become the best version of myself! What are your goals for 2019? Whatever they are, we hope that you achieve them with astonishing success. Happy New Year and may this year be the best yet!
