Spring Fun at Destin CommonsMay 1, 2019
We have May fever here at Destin Commons! You know, that time of the year when the weather is simply perfect, the end of the school year is oh so close, and you are itching to get out of the house. Well, Destin Commons is thrilled to be hosting two great events during May that are entertaining, family friendly, and benefit two sensational nonprofit organizations that work tirelessly to serve others in our community.
Do you have a love for the classics? Cars, that is! On Saturday, May 4th, come out and enjoy Burning Up the Beaches, a classic car show and local annual favorite here in the Panhandle. There will be plenty of partying while you mix it up with other gearheads from across the United States. Live music, Valve Cover Races, and the Taste of Destin Commons Block Party are all just part of the festivities. The fun begins at 10:00 Saturday morning and lasts until after the sun goes down. This is a party you do not want to miss and the proceeds go to benefit The Arc of the Emerald Coast, a local agency that serves those with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, and other developmental disabilities. Chrysler, Mustang and Chevy- oh my!
Then on Sunday, May 19th, Destin Commons is excited to host the first annual Mac-n-Cheese Festival, benefitting the Boys & Girls Club of the Emerald Coast. Starting at noon, local restaurants will be competing to take home the honor of being named Best Mac-n-Cheese in town and the competition will be fierce. All you have to do is come out, devour delicious cheesy goodness, and vote for your favorite. Purchase $1 tickets on the day of the event or you can pre-pay online here. We cannot wait to see what kinds of gourmet twists on this classic comfort food that we will see from the talented pool of chefs!
May is going to be a great month here at Destin Commons and you do not want to miss out on all the fun. So, round up your friends and family and come out and join in the festivities, all while helping out The Arc of the Emerald Coast and Boys & Girls Club of the Emerald Coast. Fun + Doing Good = A Win for Everyone.
