We’re kicking off Earth month with our list of restaurants that earn a gold star for sustainability practices at Destin Commons. These restaurants go beyond the call of providing ‘good food’ to offering dishes that give back to our number one partner – the earth. We are very proud to host many restaurants that are very active in our local community with nonprofits and charities, and these stellar few go even further to practice eco-friendly operations daily.

As a company that relies on agricultural products, we have long been aware that the planet is our most important business partner. Our comprehensive approach to reducing our environmental impact means looking at all aspects of our business, how they intersect and how we can integrate new solutions to create meaningful and sustained change. We’re working to shrink our environmental footprint and meet the expectations of our customers by increasing recycling, promoting reusable cups and reducing the waste associated with our cups and other packaging. We’re pushing ourselves to reduce the environmental footprint of our operations and help ensure access to clean water in coffee-growing communities.

Food should taste good. It should feel good. It should do good things for you and the world around you. We are advocates for clean food. We’re committed to sourcing and serving high-quality ingredients without artificial additives including added MSG, artificial trans fats, and ingredients we don’t believe need to be in your food. We believe artificial preservatives, sweeteners and flavors along with colors from artificial sources shouldn’t be in our food. 100% of our food is 100% clean. That means no artificial preservatives, sweeteners, flavors and no colors from artificial sources.

Responsibly raising the bar, Chipotle is focused on changing the face of fast food. We care deeply about where our ingredients come from. While industrial farming practices have evolved to maximize profits and production, we make an extra effort to partner with farmers, ranchers, and other suppliers whose practices emphasize quality and responsibility. See how we’re making choices with farmers, animals, and the environment in mind. Every choice we make—about who we work with, what we serve, and what we stand for—affects the bigger picture: the health of the planet. Nutrient-rich soil reduces the need for pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, buying locally reduces vehicle emissions from transportation, and humane animal husbandry means diminished reliance on antibiotics. As we strive each day to be better, we keep in mind that everything is connected.
