This Year’s Suits Strike Gold

As the days get sunnier and the weather gets warmer, we start to think of one thing: the beach! Swimsuit season is here and that means you are most likely on the hunt for your next lucky swimsuit. Are you wondering what this year’s first line of swimwear has to offer? Well, we will break it down for you by 2019’s trends: Knots, belts, color blocking, stripes, and fun fabrics. After you have found your perfect suit, do not forget to grab a beach towel, sunglasses, sandals, and maybe a pint of Guinness from World of Beer too!

1. Knots

a. You have probably already seen this trend on pants and shirts lately, so of course the next thing is going to be knots on swimwear. These suits from Everything But Water, Express, Forever 21, and Hollister all are knotted beauties. You will be able to find this trend in most styles and colors like green for St. Patrick’s Day perhaps.

2. Belts

a. We know it may seem uncomfortable, but it’s actually genius. Belts are great for attracting the eye to your body’s smallest part for a flattering and feminine look. So, why not add one to your new swimsuit for a good look on the beach or in the pool? The best part is that with most of these suits you can unhook it and add it to your cover-up when you’re done with the water and sun. Belts are great accessories for post-beach nights out at our center for dinner, shopping, or a movie. Although aerie and Everything But Water might be one of the few Destin Commons retailers carrying it right now-expect more brands to follow along in this trend. We are eyeing the green suit from aerie paired with shorts and sandals for our St. Paddy’s Day outing on March 17. No pinches for us thank you!

3. Stripes and Color Blocking

a. As you’ve seen already in spring fashion lines, stripes and color blocking have come on very strong this year and these trends absolutely include swimwear. Retro stripes, French inspired stripes, and all kinds of color block combos are very much trending for twenty nineteen. Express, aerie, and Belk all have fresh new stripes and color blocking swimwear to the table in the most flattering way. Definitely try this trend on before you buy to ensure your look is picture perfect.

4. Fun Fabrications

a. Are you looking for something unique? Try swimsuits with fun fabrications to take your looks to the next level. The matte black and velvet pieces from Express are definitely fun to try and we can see them worn as bralettes underneath a spring-inspired outfit. Embroidery, texturized suits, and intricate stitching are also going to strike gold with many beachgoers from Forever 21 and Belk. Our favorite here is the Amira Rose Flower Strap one piece in rose from Everything But Water. Just look at those chiffon flowers! Check out all of our swimwear picks on our Pinterest board.
