$20,000 donation to Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation and Sinfonia Gulf CoastDestin, FL (September 4, 2015) - In their continuing support for the past ten years of both the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation and Sinfonia Gulf Coast, Destin Commons’ Coins For A Cause program recently donated $10,000 to each organization.
The Coins For A Cause program was created by Destin Commons to help local charities with the monies collected from the Center’s parking meters. Local charities benefit from donations made to their respective causes related to issues such as health, disabilities, education, the arts and children’s well-being. Coins For A Cause has donated over $1 million to area charities since its inception ten years ago.
“We are proud that we have been supporters of these fine organizations and many others since 2005,” commented Destin Commons Marketing Manager, Heather Pike. “As we like to say, ‘changing lives, one coin at a time’, best describes our parking meter program.”
MKAF Educational Director said, “Destin Commons has been a long-standing community partner supporting MKAF and All Kinds of Art. Their generous donation enables us to strengthen our All Kinds of Art outreach programs to empower youth through arts and cultural experiences.”
Conductor Demetrius Fuller, Music and Artistic Director of Sinfonia stated, “We are extremely fortunate to have the continued support of Destin Commons. For ten years, the contributions made possible by their Coins for the Cause program, have enabled Sinfonia to continue to expand its capacity to serve the patrons and youth of Northwest Florida, both via concert events and educational outreach.”
