Holiday Style w/ Boston ProperDecember 9, 2014
For our first holiday look with Boston Proper, we styled our stunning model Anna in a chic sequin shift dress. Sequins are always our holiday go-to because they make such a statement. Shift dresses are classic and timeless and are flattering every body type. What’s great about wearing sequins is that you don’t have to worry too much about your shoes or accessories. The dress is the star of the show, so minimal or neutral pieces always work best. However, these gold glitter pumps were just too fun to pass up and add just enough sparkle without going overboard. We finished off Anna’s holiday glam look with a cozy cropped jacket in a beautiful cream faux fur (perfect topper for any of your holiday looks this season), a fun but simple gold clutch, and a sparkly cocktail ring. We suggest steering clear of necklaces and bracelets when wearing a dress covered in sequins, unless the jewelry is very dainty and minimal. This look is neutral from head to toe, so a woman of any skin color can pull these colors off with ease.

For our second holiday look, we styled Anna in an outfit that is super chic, but cozy and effortless. Sweater dresses are perfect for the holidays and are a great way to look polished, but still feel relaxed and comfortable. They’re also the perfect option when you’re headed to a holiday lunch or dinner party. You can munch on as many holiday goodies as you want and you won’t have to worry about any stubborn or uncomfortable waistbands. What’s really cool about this sweater dress is that it’s actually a sweater coat. We chose to keep it zipped up and since it was long enough, it worked perfect as a dress! We love pieces that are versatile and give you more bang for your buck!! This piece can be worn zipped up and worn as a dress or coat, or unzipped as a sweater cardigan. Three looks in one!! We love the beautiful cream color of this piece and the black leather trim adds gorgeous detail that sets it apart from the other boring knits that might be hanging in your closet. The waffle texture of this sweater is nice and soft, and will keep you toasty warm! We paired this piece with some funky leopard booties. Believe it or not, leopard is considered a neutral these days and can up the chic factor in any look. We especially love adding a touch of leopard with shoes, handbags, or scarves. We finished off Anna’s look with a great black bag that is both functional and stylish, and those “Jackie O” glam shades that will make you look like a million bucks. Another tip for styling this sweater piece? Opt for a pair of black tights when the temps get chillier, or a pair of over-the-knee (OTK) boots for an edgier vibe.
