GET A GRIP!September 7, 2015
Consider this to be your one-stop for all of this season’s biggest front runners in the handbag scene. The runways showcased everything from classic styles to fresh trends, and we loved seeing what all our favorite designers had to bring for 2015. It was clear that the runways did not have a cohesive style to spotlight, but there are certainly many fun handbag styles to take advantage of. Spring and summer’s boho obsession certainly transitions into Fall with 70’s inspired looks, while the adventurous and avante garde seem to be the talk of the town for autumn.
We have generated a list of what are clear to be the stand out pieces for the fall fashion forecast and bringing runway to the real way- so consider this to be the ultimate guide to your next handbag purchase. From bold prints to fabulous fringe, you can expect to be delighted by all the statement pieces available at Destin Commons to add to your outfit. No matter which of these styles you decide to kick start your wardrobe with, these handbags are sure to be an easy way to stay on trend with all fall has to offer.
Things got very exotic on the runways of Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs and more with handbags that were showing off some serious skin. This is an excellent way to add an instant dose of texture to any look! Be sure to take advantage of mixed-materials bags, as snakeskin and leopard are clearly taking center stage. A perfect example is the Brahmin Granada Collection Hudson Satchel (below) which beautifully showcases this class trend for the season in an elegantly timeless way. If you prefer a more modern look, then Steve Madden’s BTOTALLY tote is a great go-to and comes in many more colors. These bags can dress up pretty much anything and is certainly an easy trend to try. We also featured the Michael Kors Riley Large Satchel as is it a great everyday handbag that is ultra-versatile, which is always a win in our book.
Fashion is finding its edgy side once again! Yves Saint Laurent and Alexander Wang sure did show us their dark side with handbags covered in black leather and detailed with studs. The rocker style is year-round sexy and always a little unexpected. Say goodbye to dirty grunge and gothic costumes, this trend is clearly for fashionistas who would like to spike up their outfit with a little rock and roll. If this trend seems a bit intimidating, turn down the drama a bit and balance your outfit with a feminine dress or ballet flats. The Coach Lacquer Rivets Pebble Leather Central Satchel is certainly a beautiful way to incorporate this look into everyday style. Or you can add a bit of edge to your nighttime look with the ALDO Edroen Clutch. If you would like to take advantage of this trend on a budget then Forever 21’s Studded Faux Leather Crossbody is an excellent choice.
The 70’s have taken over the 2015 runways on jackets, skirts, and boots, and accessories are certainly no exception. Some bags were fully covered in fringe, while others were accented with fringed tassels -either way, we just can’t get enough of all things bohemian! Burberry Prorsum and Ralph Lauren’s fringed handbags really are bohemianism at its best, so channel your inner Nicole Richie and Vanessa Hudgens and take a walk on the wild side. Frye, Steve Madden, and Boston Proper all have adorable on-trend pieces that you can take advantage of without the worry of breaking the bank. So have fun with your look and add one of these adorable pieces to your fall style routine.
PROVE YOUR METAL
All that glitters really is gold for fall! Shimmering fabrics and shiny accessories were all the rage on the runway. No need to wait until the sun sets anymore; these handbags are making their way into daytime scene as well. These embellished bags are just what you need to add a little sparkle to your day. Steve Maddens’ BCRACKLE clutch is a great transitional piece bring your outfit from day to night, or if you would prefer something a bit larger than we would recommend the Michael Kors Jet Set Large Metallic Leather Shoulder Bag. Regardless of your style, this standout trend is a sure winner for the season- now go ahead and shine bright.
TRENDING TOP HANDLES
All the trends spotted on the runway had one major thing in common, top handles! They are boxy in silhouette and ladylike in attitude, the structure of a top handle handbag gives a polished finish to all outfits. It was clearly the “it-bag” for the fall and winter runway looks and judging by some of the designer’s showcased looks its clear as to why the easy to grip handbags stole the spotlight and we certainly aren’t complaining.
