Everything You’ll Need for Your College SpaceAugust 2, 2019
Get the year started on the right foot with the best items for your living area.
Whether you live on or off campus, you are going to need lots of things to prepare for the upcoming year. From bedding to backpacks, check out this year’s hottest styles of all things collegiate.
New bedding is a must, especially if you will be sleeping in the dorms. Go ahead and purchase twin XL sheets as you’ll need them to fit the oddly shaped dorm room mattresses. Believe us, you do not want to get to your dorm and realize a comfortable sleep session isn’t going to happen your first night in. Belk has plenty of twin XL sheets, but we recommend checking out the twin XL bedding sets so that you know you have everything your bed will need to give you a good night’s rest. Choose from blue patterns, florals, or plaid styles to fit your ideal dorm room. To make your bed an extra lovable spot, add a mattress topper, throw pillows, and blankets.
Make your space even more yours with decorations. Preferably, things that organize as well or have another purpose like the moon dish and mermaid vase from Earthbound Trading Co. The dish is cute and corrals your jewelry so that your necklaces don’t get tangled within one another and the vase gives your plant of choice a pretty home. Chic shelves and baskets are also pleasant to the eye and useful. Get the ones shown at Belk. Head over to Store and Story for one of their beautiful mosaic lamps that your roommate can enjoy too when the lights are off and you both are winding down for bed.
Next up inside- your bathroom. Need a shower curtain or towels? Belk has plenty. Visit the newly remodeled Bath & Body Works for a loofah or shower sponge that lasts and pick up some shea butter coconut body wash while you’re there. Mix in Avantegarde Aveda’s stress-fix oil before, after, or during your shower in preparation for an exam. Then, turn on your diffuser with a lavender essential oil and feel the stress lift away. Pick up more essential oils like orange and eucalyptus at Whole Foods Market just because or perhaps out of scent-boredom because there are no candles allowed in dorms.
Walking across campus is much more comfortable while wearing a backpack versus wearing any kind of purse or bag. Thanks to Aldo and Journey’s, you do not have to sacrifice style. They carry many on-trend options in various sizes, colors, and fabrics, so that there is something for everyone to love. Try them on, pick your favorite, and start your first day back with confidence.
Last on the list, but certainly not least are writing utensils and notebooks. These are our favorite back to school items to shop for because we like using cute versions unlike the plain ones found at big box retailers. Francesca’s and Books-A-Million both have fun options in size, shape, or type you’re looking for. Pens, pencils, and the like are also much more exciting to use when they fit your style, so pick those up as well. There’s nothing like fresh school supplies to get you excited about kick starting your studies for the entire semester.
Now go out and take on the school year in full, fashionable force and football season will be here before you know it!
